Hybrid Ecology / Kept [amends]
VESTIGES
The third sculpture of the artist’s amended actions created by separating the pods from the noxious vine and the heart-like papery seeds from the pods. Playing with the dichotomy of fragile versus resistant, the soft sculptures that sit onto a casuarina ironwood shelf belong to the real threat.

Organic soft sculptures
Vestiges (2026) is a series of soft organic sculptures displayed as a repetitive, assembled and spheric forms onto an ironwood shelf which symbolises the native Australian ancient habitat and the casuarina tree commonly named coastal ironwood.
Vestiges is the third of the artist’s slow process amending actions following ‘Kept [amends]’ and ‘Mandala’.
It consists in separating the pods from the vine and the heart-like papery seeds from the pods thus creating with the remnant’s stems aggregating growing shapes.
The sculptures are subjected to a change of pigmentation when drying out by a lack of chlorophyl nutrition (chlorosis), as soon as the photosynthesis process stops.
